Performance tuning tip for speeding up calendar updates

If you have followed the Performance Tweaks for Large Systems article in the Sugar Wiki, you will know that updating the Free/Busy calendar information that is stored in Sugar can be a resource intensive task if you have a lot of meetings and calls stored in your Sugar system.

As of Sugar 5.2.0 patch C, we have added the ability to turn off updates to the Free/Busy information with a new System Settings switch. You will only need the Free/Busy information to be kept up-to-date if your company is using Sugar to store Free/Busy information for use with the MS Outlook calendar.

Hi,

i have been playing around with the scheduling of meetings (within Sugar) and noticed, that vCal is used to show wheter an attendee is available or not (free/busy). Very helpful to prevent overlapping of meetings.

Now: if i turn off the Free/Busy information via System switch, will this effect the scheduling of meetings within Sugar as well? Because you stated, that this will only be used for external scheduling (MS Outlook, etc.).

On every page on the footer, Sugar displays the "Server Response Time". I would like to log this information using the logger, so that I can analyze the performance over a long time period and on the time of the day. I tried modifying the index.php, where it is calculating the delta time, and added the log message.

Noticed every request is not reaching this place, it works for list page but not for the details page. On the otherhand Sugar is able to show the server response time on every page. Apart from index.php. is there any other place where this delta time is getting calculated.

Hi,

I'm using Sugar 5.2 with SQL Server 2005 and the performance after a year has dropped significantly.
I tried the "Performance Tweaks for Large Systems",but not difference whatsoever, also, just as a test I changed the ID for my user in the users table and of course as a "new user" the performance was flawless, I tried reducing tracker table to only last month transactions, but not improvment there. I'm not sure which query is the "trouble query", since performance is different for different users. I turned on the slow query but nothing shows there...
