    Question Persian Calendar

I hope that this forum is as active as MODx CMS forum!

We need a Persian Calendar (Jalali Calendar) in our system instead of Gregorian calendar of the Calendar module of Sugar. I know that most of you are not familiar with Persian calendar. no problem! I explain you what we need and how it is different from Gregorian calendar! And what we have done so far! So please explain which parts of the Calendar module should be amended? and how!

We believe that it is a good idea that date and time values be stored in database as Gregorian dates and we just display them as Persian dates, and we need to provide users with a way to enter the date and time values in Persian style.

    Persian calendar differences :

    • month names are different from Gregorian month names

    • Week day names are different from Gregorian week day names

    • First month of the year is different

    • beginning of each month is different

We have 2 functions that can convert a Gregorian date to a Persian one and vise versa:
    PHP Code:
    function gregorian_to_jalali($g_y$g_m$g_d
    PHP Code:
    function jalali_to_gregorian($j_y$j_m$j_d
As we inspected, we realized that most of the work should be done in the file include/TimeDate.php

But can anybody tell us in details which parts should be changed in order to convert date values before going to and after coming from database!

Is there anyway that I can get connected with a Calendar module developers???

The four differences are relatively easy to implement. You need a JavaScript calendar replacement for gregorian dates. The conversion can be done in a few global hooks.
