Role Management

Hi everyone,

am new to sugarcrm

i have created two custom modules
1.contacts
2.personal

i have made some changes in the code before deploying. It is working fine

Now i want to have some user restrictions
1.for contacts(custom module) module the user has to see his details only but not others

When i set Role for this contacts(custom module) and Documents (Existing Module)as

Access Edit List View Import Export
Enabled Owner Owner Owner All All

Documents Module is working fine(i.e User Can See his own Documents But Not Others Documents)

But in case of Contacts(custom module) am not getting the same functionality as above(documents)

Errors:

In List View It is not showing the user Information for contacts module(When List--->Owner)



But when List--->All

It is showing other users records also(i.e user can see other users information also)So my Question is
In list view User has to see his records but not other users records


So I kindly request everyone to give me relevant information about this

Hi. when creating a module on module builder roles come ready out of the box.
this configuration is correct for your contacts module (custom):

Access Edit List View Import Export
Enabled Owner Owner Owner All All

When it's not showing any records, do you receive an error on your sugarcrm.log or error_log? did you customised list view?

Yes I am not getting any record in listview. If I want show his records only how can do that in custom module.

hi,

this is a silly question, but did you happen to remove
the "Assigned to" field in editviewdefs.php?
i did that mistake before so the records "Assigned to" becomes NULL
which means the record has "no owner".
