Role Management for Team members

How can we protect other sales people, looking at other’s contacts. Lets say Sales Rep A, received a call for Sales Rep’s B customer, he should only be able to see the notes, and add notes of the customer.


I create a role and set owner rights for delete/edit/export contact, and set all to view contacts, i assign all users to sales team, now some user create own contact, and now they can also view their team member contacts.

But the problem is that they can also edit and delete contact of other members. Please help me to resolve this problem.

i am using 4.5 version of SUGARCRM.

Roles in 5.0 allow you to set permissions for the 'Owner' of the record.. I'm not sure if Roles in 4.5 allowed this. For example, you can set Contacts::Edit to 'Owner,' meaning only the owner of the record can edit it. Does this accomplish what you're looking for?

If not, you may need to take a look at Sugar Professional, which has the concept of team security (also known as row-level security).

I assgined a role "Sales" with Owner permission to Leads module and assigned to user(for pro version online demo also)
But it shows all the leads from all users to that user.

How can i restict the user to show leads only assigned to him
