Default Sugar 6 Module Builder remove custom files created manually

    Hi!

We are in the process to upgrade our Sugar 5.5 to Sugar 6.3. We are creating back all our custom modules in Module Builder of Sugar 6. I create a new package, with 2 modules in it, then deploy it. Worked without a hitch.

I then created manually some custom files in the custom/Extension/modules directory, some vardefs, layoutdefs, metadata, and language files. Still no problem. Then I got back to Module Builder to modify the EditView, and deploy the package again. And then surprise! All the files I created manually were gone! This was not the behavior I expected, since Sugar 5.5 Module Builder don't do that.

Am I doing things correctly in Sugar 6 to be upgrade-safe, or there is somewhere I should put my manually created custom files to avoid they be removed by Module Builder on deploy?

    Thanks.

Can you add a bug this at SugarCRM Bug Tracker | Open Source Business & Social CRM - SugarCRM This is a known issue but I'm not sure if there is an open bug for this.

    Thanks!

    Hi!

    Thanks for your answer.

I took a quick look at the bugs for Module Builder in Sugar 6.3.0, and there is nothing like what I described. I'm gonna open a new bug.

If it's a known issue, do you think that it could be solved by upgrading to Sugar 6.3.1?

    Thanks.
