Default Sugar Developer Guide Now Available

The Sugar Developer Guide is now available to view online or download.

The Sugar Developer Guide provides information for developers who want to extend and customize SugarCRM functionality using the customization tools and APIís provided in the Sugar Community Edition, Sugar Professional Edition and Sugar Enterprise Edition. From adding custom fields to building new modules, from extending existing UI controllers to integrating data via Web Services, the Sugar Developer Guide details how the Sugar code works and and how to work with it.

The Developer Guide is found along with the other Sugar documentation.

We are pleased to bring you this useful tool and we look forward to expanding on it with your feedback. You will note that you can add comments to the HTML version of the document. We encourage you to contribute to the accuracy and thoroughness of this new guide.

    Clint,

The "download" link above doesn't work. The other links all do.

    Very nice.

Already I'm about to use this for training a new Sugar developer.

I thought the developer guide for 5.1 was a great thing and enjoyed reading it. Will there be a developer guide for 5.2?

I see the developer guide for 5.2 is now out (although the filename is called SugarDeveloperGuide_v51.pdf, the same filename as the 5.1 dev guide, and also while linked from the developer site, it is not in the download manager under my account where the rest of the docs are). I can see the obvious new sections that relate to 5.2 functionality, and the file is 30 pages longer, but it would be really cool if there was a diff section that basically stated what pages had changed from the previous developer guide. I don't want to re-read the whole document again (although it certainly wouldn't hurt to do so) but I don't want to miss out on any of the new or altered content, and I don't see any easy way for me to determine what content is different.

Check out the \modules\Users\authentication\LDAPAuthenticate directory. You'll want to model your authentication plug-in after that or one of the other directories in that authentication directory. It may be easiest to just copy the whole thing to \modules\Users\authentication\MoodleAuthenticate and change to do what you need done.

Using CE and have 2 or more users? You need SecuritySuite - Teams
