What is the purpose of primary team among sets of team ?

What is the purpose of private and primary team ?

Usually, when there are multiple values (of related records) associated with a single record, there is one value marked as Primary.

The main reason for earmarking something as primary is as follows:
1. When one to one relationship needs to be derived, usually the "Primary" is used for this purpose.
2. For example – When data is aggregated for analytics, the Team dimension works off of the "Primary" Team.
3. Consider the logic to identify which Team is closing most Opportunities this week – We would typically do this aggregation based on "Primary" team.

Especially in case of Team, the Primary Team can also have some security requirements.

For example, you can provide full access to records to only Primary Team members. And the other teams can be provided with Read Only access
(We do not have a facility to assign different access levels to different teams on the same record yet, but when we add that, this would be the most common use of Primary Team).
