Sugar Community Edition

I am happy to announce that version 5.5.1 of Sugar Community Edition is now Generally Available!

The 5.5.1 GA version of Sugar Community Edition Community can be downloaded in the Sugar project in SugarForge.

Learn more about the new and enhanced Email functionality in the Sugar 5.5.1 documentation. The Release Notes contains a full list of changes, and the Application Guide contains detailed instructions on how to use Emails in Sugar.

Because we made quite a few changes in the user interface of the email client, as well as to previously existing email functionality, we recommend that you do the following before upgrading:


  • Read the Release Notes to learn about the changes to expect after upgrading
  • Perform a test upgrade on a copy of your Sugar application
  • Walk through the Emails module and the Email Settings administration page to familiarize yourself with the new and changed functionality
  • Make any necessary adjustments to user and group mail accounts and other settings to make sure users are able to perform the same tasks
