Default Bug Tracker has been revamped!

    Hello all,

I'm pleased to announce that the Sugar Team has revamped our Bug Tracker ( at http://bugs.sugarcrm.com/ ). Our main goal was to enhance performance, since many of you have reported slow load times, page timeouts, etc., but we've also main a few other layout changes to make it more user-friendly.

Please reply with your feedback. Is it working well for you? Would you like to see more changes or features?

Wow, seems to be a lot faster, nice work!

    About features:
    - HTML/PHP code tags with syntax highlighting + repecting formatting (indentation)
    - In the emails reporting a new note to a bug, include the URL like in the bug update emails
    - Search in description field
    - Searching could also be improved by including some more categories. Split 'system internal' to vardefs, sugarfields, javascript, MVC framework, etc.

Nice work- out of curiosity what key change(s) improved performance? Did you convert it to use REST instead of SOAP?

Hi Julian, it seems like adding notes is broken again..

Showing "Note saved!" but the note is not there. On bug 28186.

    Hi Julian!

    A much needed feature:
When a bug is closed as "Duplicate" there should be a field showing the number for the "live" bug the closed bug is a duplicate of, and a link leading to that bug.
This number and link should ideally be placed both in the "list view" and the "detail view" of the closed bug.

Julian, one should really take a look at this. I just received this email:

Gloria Chen has created a new Note:

    Bug Number: 27553
Bug Name: Calendar duplicates list strings
Subject: We need more details or steps. Can you attach your details?
    Note: 3/11/2009 16:59 Gloria
We need more details or steps.
    Can you attach your details?

You may review this Note by logging into the Bug Tracker
And in the tracker, the note does not display!

    For the record, my response:

Those are language arrays. As a translator, I stumbled upon these which are completely analogous to each other. I cannot imagine that anyone would want to fill them with different values then the other one. Therefore, the Calendar language files doesn't need those 4 arrays in its language file. Calendar can refer to app_strings.

Of course it's a minimal issue and it's causing no problems right now. I'm just reporting, I leave the prioritizing to you guys .

There is still something wrong -
After adding a note it says "Note Saved!" at the top and further down: "No notes at this time"
    and no notes are visible

They are obviously saved since the engineer responds to my notes, but they are not visible..

( actually - that's a clever way to enhance performance - do not try to fetch any related records )

What does "Found in release" stand for?

I always thought that was the release the bug was originally found in.

    How can bug #27376 have
    Found in release: 5.2.0c
    and
    Date Entered: 2009-01-19 09:24:28 (GMT)

5.2.0c was released late yesterday, right?

If I search with condition "Found in release" 5.2.0c
I get around 80 bugs most of them already "Assigned" or even "Closed"
