Can we ban posts with 'ipod' or make a harder sign up procedure or something. The stuff for sale ads are getting bad all of the sudden.

Hello Ken,
I had the idea of adding a CAPTCHA to the website registration form. I'm testing it now and hope to implement it by the end of the week. The task is being tracked here:

I'll look into tightening down the vBulletin configuration. It's definitely turning into a problem. The price of success!

Hi guys, have you looked at SXORE or similar as a means of helping control SPAM shitheads? We're doing an implementation and plan to integrate into Joomla but that's not much good to you. Check out www.sxore.com for info on setting up identity/reputation for users. You're welcome to chat to us about it too if you're interested: www.ein.com.au
Love what you've done with getting social interaction working on your site. I consider it is one of the most effective sites I've seen.
BTW, like so many others, we've been happily using Sugar for some time and think you guys are doing a great job generally.
cheers
Bruce
Great suggestion. We'll look into it.
We started implementing another system but ran into technical issues that put the effort on hold for a couple weeks.

I have also had a number of "private" Sugar emails sent to me only to find they were spammers using your system.
Haven't they got anything better to do with their time?
Cheers

We've done a lot to reduce the number of spam posts in the past month. I won't detail what we're doing so that the miscreants won't know how to get around our spam measures, but I do hope everybody is seeing a lot less forum spam.
