Default Updated to latest version of forums software

As you have likely noticed by now if you are a returning visitor, the look of the Sugar Forums has changed a bit. That is because we have upgraded to the latest version of vbulletin.

Besides a few new minor features such as tags and the integrated social networking features, we moderators also have a better spam management feature in place that should make it easier to detect and prune out spam posts.

Let us know if you run into any issues.

Thumbs up Re: Updated to latest version of forums software

It sure look a little nicer than before.
I must say that yesterday (or was it the day before? ) when I tried to login to the forums, it didn't recognize my password so I had to change it to have access to the forums again.
Last, I'm seeing no more captcha when submitting a new post.

Unfortunately I updated yesterday to IE7 (which devil worried my soul ?) and so I cannot say is it a IE7 issue or a forum issue.

If I call the user profile page I get some JavaScript error messages:
    - line 11 - vBulletin is undefined
    - line 11 - vBulletin is undefined
    - line 468 - vbphrase is undefined

We are facing the same issue here.
But it seems right better than the old one.
Fixing that issue we can say it is almost perfect!

I kind of see myself here amongst the usual suspects. Means I'll get attention for a probably very stupid question: Is there no AND search anymore? I was looking for active directory and got tons of posts with active OR directory.

Tried it with advanced search, with "active directory", [active directory], 'active directory" - it's always "or".

Login doesn't work, true. I have to login through the main site - then the forum likes me again. And the infamous "forbidden" page still haunts me. Bad karma I guess.

In addition to my previous post:
now if I want to report several spam posts, I must wait 60 secs between each report...
I guess I'll stop reporting spammers then...

Looking into it. We're still working out the final issues in the upgrade.

a few minutes ago I tried to report 3 spam messages.
After reporting the first one, I got the infamous 6o seconds wait message.
I understood you were to remove this, but I were wrong

Coming into the forum the login entry area at top right does not work. Instead of entering user and password just click on the "login" button at top right it takes you to a "jump to" screen. Click "go" on that one and you get another login screen... this time with your user and password (from the cookie). This screen will work. There is no need to change passwords or accounts. There is obviously a bug in the new vbulletin software... or there is some configuration issue that needs to be resolved.

I also notice that the time-out is shorter than before and that the cookie is not as persistent. In the past one could close the browser but stay logged in for several days. I'm using the latest Firefox (3.0.5) on a Mac with OS X (10.4).
