User Profile spam

Not sure if anyone is aware of this but there appears to be quite a bit of user accounts created just for the purpose of creating a profile that will then be Twitter spammed. For instance, this user http://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/member.php?u=1081415 was created at 5:21pm (Central) and then 3 minutes later a link to the that page was sent through Twitter: http://twitter.com/Moped_Insurance/status/7765766648.

I'm not sure on how the accounts are created but if there is a pattern to these types of accounts perhaps it can be stopped? Has the forum software been updated lately?
