Default Feedback on our iTunes Podcasts?

    Hi all,

As announced during the Global Developer Confrence, we have been creating "60 Second Sugar Snippet" podcasts on a variety of topics. You can find them on iTunes (just search for "SugarCRM" in the search box or click on this link) or on our podcast page on SugarForge.org.

Now that we have a pretty good batch of them (9, in fact, over the last week) posted, we're going to aim for posting about 1-2 a week. Upcoming topics include the top five SugarExchange items, plus the details of our Sugar Bounty program (also announced at the GDC).

I'm looking for any feedback on the podcasts so far. Are the topics interesting? Useful? Informative? Is there something you'd like us to cover in a future edition? Are you sick of that techno music in the background and want a change?

Please give us your feedback. We hope this podcast avenue is another way to help you out.

Well, Susie, I'll devote my 1500th post to "Dreisching" about the marvelous podcasts you have set up.

I think they're topical, concise, and informative.

As we've discussed, there are many more to come.

I too can "Dreisch", it seems...

The top four podcasts in terms of listeners are:

    1. CRM Usage (10 tips to increase your sales reps' use of the software)
    2. Ways to make money with Sugar
    3. Sugar Flavors
    4. How to Contribute
We've got some great podcasts coming up in the next week that talk about SugarExchange, Leads vs. Contacts, and the sequel to the ever-popular CRM Usage one.

If you have any ideas for future topics, be sure to drop us a line (email or PM is fine) and we'll work them into a podcast. We're publishing new podcasts on Mondays and Thursdays these days.

Hi Suzie what about a podcast on top modules, addons or plugins for sugar crm.

I seem to find it very hard to find plugins that look like they are worth using as they all seem marked as alpha unstable or no documentation or reviews to say other wise.

    thanks
    Paul

Great suggestion, Paul! We can definitely feature some of the more interesting add-ons.

We also feature (in print, not on the podcast) the Project of the Month on Sugarforge.org. Each project we feature is picked because of its stability, popularity, and downright "coolness". This month's project is SugarMini, a wireless/Blackberry add-on. The links to the past projects of the month are on the right hand side of that page so you can see what other interesting projects are out there.

Hi turboweb, Reem will soon be creating a periodic podcast/video highlighting cool new items on SugarExchange.

The benefit of doing this with SugarExchange items is that they're mature products overall, and certified products in particular support the latest releases and Sugar editions.

So look for this periodic podcast starting soon.

I finally got around to listening to pretty much all of them tonight and that music is awesome! Was that composed in house?

There was a good amount of information packed into a small time frame. I got the most out of the 10 tips as well as the performance tips. I'll be forwarding some of those ideas to our sponsers and users. I'm looking forward to more in the future! I tried looking for the bounty area mentioned in one. Sounds like an interesting idea.

    Hi eggsurplus,

Thank you for the great feedback! I'm glad you're finding them useful.

A couple of answers to your questions:

    • The music is something royalty-free that I found on a Sony site (we're using Sony Vegas Video to do the editing, btw). I like it because I can make it as long or as short as I need it with not too much work.
    • In response to the number of downloads we're seeing, we'll be doing followups to some of the more popular podcasts. We already have another "CRM Usage tips" podcast coming tomorrow; the "10 Tips" podcast has been far and away the most popular one.
    • If you miss any info, we always post the transcript on this page.
    • Regarding the Bounty program, I think our scripts got a bit ahead of our execution. We will be launching the bounty program, but it's not quite ready yet. When it is, I'll devote a podcast to it explaining what it's about.

Thanks again for your feedback! If you have any suggestions for topics, just drop us a line.
