Default The Maillot Jaune is in good hands now (caution: spoiler)

[Caution: spolier content below. If you wish to remain surprised at the outcome of today's stage in the Tour de France ... close this post now!!]

Sugar is an athletic bunch overall and we have a dedicated group of cycling junkies. Many of us follow the Tour de France closely.

So today marks a special day. The first mountaintop finish, and the chance for the real GC (General Classification) contenders to break through.

And so it is today that the coveted Maillot Jaune -- the yellow jersey signifiy the overall race leader -- has changed hands again, this time ending up in its rightful place: with an American.

    (Commence international flame wars now!!!)

Not only that but he's a Californian.

    (Commence inter-states flame war now!!!)

But, unfortunately, he's from southern California.

    (Commence intra-state flame war now!!!)

It doesn't get any better than this.

Who is it, you ask? Floyd Landis.

Well, Floyd is in yellow for a second day (Friday) and I'm watching OLN now (Saturday) and it's doubtful there will be another change in the yellow jersey.

So, in honor of Floyd and in hopes that Sugar one day will be a Tour de France team sponsor, I offer this image.

Andy, I assume you're the founder of the Sugar cycling junkies group

As you've noticed Oscar Pereiro (Spain) took the Maillot Jaune today. No doubt Landis will respond in the last stages of the race.

Hi Markku, yes, I spoke too soon. I'm quite surprised Phonak didn't make up the time gap. It sure wouldn't have taken much effort. There's no way Discovery under Lance would have let that happen.

But you have to hand it to those guys who were 30 mins out front in the breakaway.
